Tony Mendes

mendesFormer East Chapel Hill standout Tony Mendes was named to the second team for the CAC conference this past season. Mendes is a starter for the top ranked Salisbury Seagulls. After sitting out for a year and spending some time assisting the East Lacrosse program, Tony enrolled at Salisbury this past fall. He picked up just where he left off during his year at the University of Maryland, where he made many contributions as a freshman. Mendes was also a member of the last U-19 World Championship team which won the title in Canada. His top-ranked Seagull team will now wait for NCAA seedings which will be released on Sunday. With a little luck, perhaps Tony and Duke midfielder Scot Meyer might both be seen at M&T Bank Stadium fighting for the D3 and D1 national titles in late May.
