Three Wildcats Chosen for NC Great 38

In addition to producing two High School All Americans and a National Scoring Leader, three Wildcats seniors get the honor of playing in this season's Great 38 Game at Catawba University on Saturday. Steven Augustine, Chandler Zirkle and Ryan Lucey will play in the last high school game of their careers. The game was started by StickwithUs.org founder Mike Desmond and has featured the top players in North Carolina for several years. East has sent a number of players in the past to this game.

Augustine set the All-Time record for ground balls, not only in a season but for his career. He also ends his career with the all-time percentage record for wins. Lucey ends his season second all-time on the scoring list and in first place for goals, breaking Tony' Mendes record earlier this season. Mendes, by the way, continues to play this season as his Salisbury Seagull team advanced to the semi finals, where they will play Roanoke College this weekend.  Chandler Zirkle currently leads the nation in assists, and has set several records including points in a game, assists in a game, season assists, and career assists.

With a bit of a twist, the East coaching staff will be on the sidelines on Sunday afternoon leading one of the squads. The game will be replayed on Time Warner Cable, check back to this site for the link in a few days.
